Morocco Emerges as Top Summer Destination for Global Celebrities and Leaders

Tangier, Marrakech, Fez, Tetouan... Many celebrities and world leaders such as the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez and Saudi princesses are investing in Moroccan cities to spend their summer vacations.
Morocco’s reputation as one of the preferred destinations for stars and world leaders is not waning. Since June, celebrities have been flocking to the kingdom to spend their summer vacations or pleasant moments with family or friends. On Tuesday, Princess Fahda bint Falah al-Hathleen, wife of the Saudi king and mother of the crown prince, arrived in Morocco for a one-week stay, recalls Jeune Afrique. Accompanied by a large delegation, including many officials within the Saudi royal palace, she will be joined by many other dignitaries, including princesses from the ruling families of the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait. She is expected to embark on a journey that will take her to Tangier, Chefchaouen and Marrakech.
The third wife of the Saudi king has thus joined Princess Lalla Hassa, daughter (from a first marriage) of the King of Saudi Arabia. Arrived in Tangier on Monday, she plans to spend the entire summer in this city that she has been frequenting since her childhood. A city where her father owns two residences. One is located on the heights of the Strait city, in the residential district of Jebel Kebir, near the royal palace. As for the second residence, it overlooks the Atlantic Ocean, not far from the Hercules Cave. These members of the Saudi royal family are not the only ones to set their sights on Tangier. This city located in the north of Morocco is also the destination of French actress Arielle Dombasle, wife of Bernard-Henri Lévy, who is already enjoying her villa located on the heights of the Kasbah, with a view of the Strait of Gibraltar, but also of British designer Jasper Conran who recently stayed at Villa Mabrouka - the former home of Yves Saint Laurent - before taking a flight to Seville.

Pedro Sánchez is also among the world leaders who are staying in Morocco. He arrived in the kingdom on August 1 to spend private and family vacations. Vacations criticized by his political opponents. After Marrakech, the Spanish Prime Minister and his family will continue their stay in northern Morocco, in Tetouan, then in Mdiq, where Mohammed VI is used to spending his vacations. It remains to be seen whether the two personalities will meet. The other Moroccan destination favored by celebrities is Fez, the spiritual capital of the kingdom.
