Morocco Emerges as Top Summer Destination Despite Travel Restrictions

Border closures or not, many foreign tourists are considering spending the summer in Morocco. The MisterFly company thus foresees excellent prospects for this summer in Morocco, even if the level cannot match that of 2019.
"Things are finally moving, even if we are still far from the volumes recorded in 2019," wrote Frederic Pilloud, Digital Director at MisterFly, the number 3 in dry flights in France, in a message posted on social networks. "This gives signs of hope while waiting for clearer announcements from the government from June 9," he added. As an illustration, some indicators indicate that the company has planned for 17% of its customers to depart for Morocco in June, 56% will make the trip in July and 17% in August.
Furthermore, the data provided by the specialist in dry flights, packages and hotel stays also provide information on the average flight prices in August, considered "wise". These prices are set at 312 euros in 2021, compared to 293 euros in 2020 and 385 euros in 2019. Joining the group of Moroccan tourism professionals, the French tour operators attribute the lack of visibility to the closure of Moroccan borders.
And the French daily Le Figaro to ask: "Will we be able to travel to Morocco this summer?", given that huge problems stand in the way of vacations in Morocco.
