No more unidentified vehicles speeding out of control across Morocco. Now defined as seat-less vehicles reserved for a single passenger, equipped with a non-thermal engine and limited to between 6 and 25 km/h, they officially fall into the moped category. The Government Council formalized these specifications by decree on June 19, 2025, requiring the mandatory addition of a braking system, a horn audible from 50 meters away, and reflective lights at both the front and rear.

Before venturing onto public roads, each device must mandatorily undergo a certification phase. Questioned by deputy Nabil Dakhch, Transport and Logistics Minister Abdessamad Kayouh firmly recalled the provisions of Article 49 of the Road Code. This procedure is essential to "ensure compliance of technical characteristics with road safety standards," he stated, confirming in the process the preparation of a supplementary text aimed at precisely regulating traffic rules.
