The civil service has 436,000 teachers, or 55% of the state’s civil servants, said the president of the Mohammed VI Foundation for the Social Works of Education-Training on Tuesday.
Education Ministry officials represent 72% of members, compared to 25% of retirees, according to a study by the Education Committee of the House of Representatives. In 2021, members could rise to 466,000 and 600,000 by 2028, the foundation’s official announced. According to Al Akhbar, the number of beneficiaries of the Foundation has reached 1.5 million with 92% of members, classified on scales 10 and above.
In total, 40% of members are women. In addition, a survey found that health, housing, entertainment and travel are priorities for women and men in the National Education.
Since 2004, nearly 319,000 families have benefited from the health insurance covered by the Foundation, at a cost of 1.231 billion dirhams. "Since its creation, this institution has taken out a supplementary health insurance contract to cover chronic diseases. This coverage can reach one million dirhams per year for each patient, knowing that this agreement has been updated this year," added the president of the Mohammed VI Foundation.
