Morocco’s Economy Poised for 7.1% Growth in 2021, CMC Report Predicts

The growth rate for the year 2021 in Morocco could reach 7.1%, according to the Moroccan Center for Conjuncture (CMC).
The recovery of the Moroccan economy seems largely promising in view of the results recorded during the current year, according to the annual report of the CMC, entitled "2022: Recovery in Perspective", which takes stock of the forecasts and framework for the years 2021 and 2022.
Driven by the improvement in health conditions, the sustained pace of the vaccination campaign, the enthusiasm of operators for the resumption of activity, the excellent agricultural season and the strong growth that is emerging for the global economy, growth should reach 7.1% in 2021, forecasts the CMC.
However, this recovery must be monitored and supported, as it is subject to macroeconomic risks that could arise in 2021 and 2022, warned the center, specifying that 2022 will be marked by a return to calm growth which should be around 4.1% given the skepticism that will persist in the minds of economic operators.
To this end, the CMC has proposed to strengthen the Mohammed VI Investment Fund which, according to it, is one of the strategic instruments of the recovery policy, mobilizing the financing of the State, public companies and the private sector.
