Morocco Economic Growth 2025: Agriculture Drives 4.9% Expansion

Driven by the agricultural sector, the Moroccan economy is displaying growth of 4.9% in 2025. This dynamic makes it possible to offset the slowdown in household consumption and other service activities.

National activity owes its salvation to the fields. After a period marked by sharp contraction, agriculture is recording an exceptional jump of 8.2%. This performance propels the entire primary sector, despite the drastic 13% decline suffered by fishing. Direct consequence of this rural improvement: the overall Gross Domestic Product (GDP) accelerates to exceed the 4.4% recorded in the previous fiscal year.

This vitality masks the exhaustion of the rest of the economy, whose growth is capped at 3.9%. Industry and construction are seeing their pace slow down. The tertiary sector is also braking its course, standing at 4.3%. Transport, accommodation, catering, and financial and IT services are moving at a slower pace compared to 2024.

In this contrasting climate, domestic demand is losing momentum. Household final consumption is braking sharply, with growth limited to 1.2%, while the general price level appreciated by 1.6%. Conversely, overall investment effort is accelerating, climbing 16.3%, according to the High Commission for Planning in its analysis of national accounts.
