Morocco Eases Lockdown Nationwide, Four Major Cities Remain Restricted

The government decided on June 11 to divide the country into two distinct zones in order to better monitor the evolution of the epidemiological situation in each zone. In a joint press release from the Ministry of the Interior and Health, it authorized the deconfinement of all prefectures and provinces except Tangier-Assilah, Larache, Kenitra and Marrakech.
The government has confirmed the rumors that announced the transition of the entire territory to deconfinement zone 1. This measure should take effect as of Wednesday, June 24.
This decision comes in view of the epidemiological situation in the Kingdom and the results of the daily monitoring of the "plan to ease the health confinement". According to the same press release, this decision comes after a thorough evaluation of the measures enacted and the sanitary conditions and criteria that must be met.
