Morocco Eases Customs Regulations for Exporters Amid COVID-19 Challenges

Faced with the consequences resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic, the Customs and Indirect Taxes Administration (ADII) is adopting relaxations in favor of exporters.
These are measures concerning exports beyond deadlines and release for consumption. They are valid until December 31, 2020 and are granted at the request of interested exporters.
According to a circular from the ADII dated September 9, the measures take into account the regularization of accounts subscribed under the economic regimes of temporary admission for active processing, the free industrial warehouse, temporary admission and the private individual warehouse. At the origin of these measures, the health crisis which the ADII intends to reduce the "negative repercussions" among operators.
Among the latter, the crisis will have caused "the drop in demand from foreign markets for Moroccan products, and in particular those manufactured from imported inputs under one of the economic customs regimes," notes Le Matin.
