Morocco’s Driving Schools Face Bankruptcy as Pandemic Halts Operations

Driving school owners fear that without financial assistance, their sector will be in the red. They dread a forced bankruptcy due to the coronavirus pandemic.
For two months, driving schools have been closed due to measures taken to fight the spread of coronavirus. But the sector is facing a delicate situation that is putting the 20,000 families who make a living from it in difficulty. According to Dahan Bouberd, president of the National Union of Driving School Owners, the sector is going through a crisis and the situation is likely to worsen in the coming weeks, reports le360.
Driving schools do not benefit from any social security coverage, and employees do not benefit from the CNSS or RAMED. "We can’t even apply for help in the informal sector since we are not one," he explains. For him, the situation is very worrying and could get worse if the state does not look into it quickly.
