Morocco Doubles High-Speed Train Service as Rail Travel Resumes with COVID-19 Precautions

The National Railway Office plans to double the frequency of high-speed shuttle trains on the Kenitra-Rabat-Casablanca axis on June 1st. Traffic remains suspended until further notice for line trains and the high-speed train.
In total, 40 shuttles will be provided per day instead of 20 previously. This doubling of frequencies will be supported by strict accompanying health measures, particularly social distancing.
From the resumption of activities, the ONCF has decided to enforce barrier gestures with its passengers on board its trains. They will now run at 50% of their passenger capacity.
The main measures taken by the ONCF to limit the covid-19 pandemic are summarized as follows: filtering passengers at the entrance to stations to separate flows; checking the wearing of masks in stations and on board trains; making hydroalcoholic gels available in stations and on board trains; reinforced and continuous cleaning and disinfection of trains and shared spaces in stations; respect for social distancing in waiting areas in stations, on platforms, in travel spaces and on board trains, by limiting sales capacity, neutralizing seats and marking the floor with the safety distance to be respected; wearing masks and visors by "Front Office" staff in contact with customers in stations and on board trains.
