Morocco Dominates Uganda in CHAN 2021 Group Stage Showdown

Since the start of the African Nations Championship (CHAN), it is the first time that the local Atlas Lions have achieved such a performance. A thrashing that the Ugandans, who held the advantage before being caught up by the Moroccans’ desire to win, will remember.
Houcine Ammouta’s players atomized Uganda in their last group match. Yet the Ugandans had managed to sow doubt in the opposing camp by scoring the first goal of the match in the 25th minute of play. The Moroccans, forced to get a positive result at the risk of getting into trouble, give the Ugandans no respite and manage to obtain a penalty converted by the striker, Ayoub El Kaabi, reports the daily Al Massae.
It was on the return from the locker room that the match took a different turn thanks to four changes made by the coach. He started Omar Namsaoui, Mohammed Bamamer, Reda Jaadi and Adam Naffati. This change allowed the national team to dominate in all areas. The Ugandan goalkeeper only saw the fire. J. Mckinstry’s protégés had to give in to the efficiency of the Moroccan players who want to keep their title as leader of this competition.
Morocco therefore secures a place for the quarter-finals, and Uganda is eliminated. For the next match, the locals should face Zambia, the second in group D, in Douala on January 31. Buoyed by its three previous participations, Zambia will want to take on Morocco, which more than anything wants to stay in the competition. A beautiful match in prospect then.
