Morocco Dominates Spain’s Fruit and Vegetable Imports, Exports Surge 25%

Morocco consolidates its position as Spain’s number one supplier of fruits and vegetables, according to data collected by the Spanish Federation of Fruit and Vegetable Producer and Exporter Associations (FEPEX).
In total, Morocco will have exported 358,329 tons of fruits and vegetables in the first half of the current year, according to FEPEX, which evaluates this performance as a 25% year-on-year increase. In value, this represents 548 million euros (about 6 billion dirhams).
Moroccan exports of fruits and vegetables in the first half over the past five years have increased from 214,215 tons in 2016 to 358,329 tons in 2020, an increase of 67%. These exports in value have thus increased from 312.3 million euros to 548 million euros.
