Morocco’s New Development Model Report Nears Completion for Royal Review

After more than a year of work, the Benmoussa special commission is about to submit its report to King Mohammed VI on the vision of the new development model of the Kingdom. While it was supposed to submit this report in June last year, it was granted a 6-month extension to finalize the document due to the coronavirus crisis.
This commission, composed of 36 members, is chaired by Chakib Benmoussa, the Kingdom’s ambassador to France. "It is now ready and should not be long before it is presented to the sovereign," said a member of the commission at the end of the last plenary meeting last December. "It’s a matter of days," he specified.
In total, about thirty field visits were made as well as some 113 working workshops. In addition, 6,600 written contributions from various organizations were received.
Pending the transmission of the report to the sovereign, Moroccans want to know the content of this new vision of the kingdom’s economic model. Some recommendations related to the economic and sports sectors are already available online on the commission’s platform.
