Morocco Denies Authenticity of Documents Claiming Egyptian President’s Mother is Moroccan

The General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) categorically rejected the authenticity of two documents attributed to it, published on social networks. These documents concern the mother of the Egyptian President, Abdel Fattah al-Sissi.
In a press release, the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST) formally denies the authenticity of two documents.
"Foreign pages on a social network have circulated two documents that are the subject of blatant forgery in which these pages falsely claim that they originate from the DGST services in a presumed case relating to the identity of an Egyptian national of Moroccan origin converted to Judaism," the DGST states.
The DGST also denounced their forged and fictitious nature and stated that it will initiate the necessary investigations under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office in order to identify their origin and the context of their circulation in Morocco.
Two documents were widely shared on social networks attesting that the DGST is the author of these publications. These documents indicate that the mother of the Egyptian President, one Malika Titani, belonged to a Moroccan Jewish family. She was born, it is said, in Safi, Morocco in 1935.
