Morocco’s Customs Revenue Surges 25% to 51 Billion Dirhams in September

The Moroccan customs have collected more than 51.38 billion at the end of September 2021, up 25.4% compared to last year’s figures.
In its monthly bulletin of public finance statistics, the General Treasury of the Kingdom (TGR) noted a sharp increase in customs revenue. This performance takes into account tax refunds, rebates and reimbursements of 83 million dirhams at the end of last September, the note points out.
In detail, the net revenue from customs duties realized at the end of September 2021 reached 8.58 billion dirhams, up 31.5%, taking into account tax refunds, rebates and reimbursements of 17 million dirhams. And the net revenue from VAT on imports stood at 30.62 billion dirhams, up 24.9%, with VAT refunds on imports of 5 million dirhams.
For their part, the net revenue from the domestic consumption tax (TIC) on energy products exceeded 12.18 billion dirhams, up 22.7% compared to their level at the end of September 2020, taking into account tax refunds, rebates and reimbursements of 59 million dirhams.
