Morocco’s Customs Revenue Surges 21% to 76.8 Billion Dirhams in November

At the end of last November, the Moroccan customs collected more than 76.81 billion dirhams, up 21.4% compared to the same period a year earlier.
In its recent monthly bulletin of public finance statistics, the General Treasury of the Kingdom (TGR) noted a sharp increase in customs revenue.
This increase takes into account tax refunds, rebates and reimbursements of 221 million dirhams (MDH), at the end of November, the note points out, according to which gross customs revenue increased by 21.5% to 77.03 BMDH.
In detail, the net revenue from customs duties realized during the period reached 12.74 BMDH, showing an increase of 21.7%. The net revenue from VAT on imports, for its part, stood at 49.66 BMDH, up 31.6%.
As for the net revenue from the domestic consumption tax (TIC) on energy products, it decreased by 4.5%, reaching 14.40 BMDH, taking into account tax refunds, rebates and reimbursements of 161 MDH, while the gross revenue from the TIC was 14.56 BMDH, down 3.9% compared to its level a year earlier.
