Morocco’s Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan Turns 16: Rabat Celebrates with Festivities

Rabat was in a festive mood last Thursday evening for the sixteenth birthday of the Crown Prince Moulay Hassan. Four ceremonies were organized for this purpose in the city center of the Moroccan capital.
According to Le360, these festivities were initiated by the Professional Association of Caterers of Morocco and had the collaboration of "the local authorities, headed by the Wali of Rabat-Salé-Kénitra, Mohamed El Yacoubi". There was a large birthday cake that was offered to those present, at the Mohammed V National Theater.
But there was also music. According to the same media: "Several names from the Moroccan song scene including Mohamed El Ghaoui, Hajib, Adil El Miloudi, participated in this celebration which was attended by a large audience. Two artistic stages, located on Mohammed V Avenue, the main artery of the city center, hosted various musical troupes".
A parade of folk troupes from all over Morocco took place and could be watched by the citizens who gathered in large numbers on Mohammed V Avenue. This ceremony continued until 2 a.m. and ended with the reading of a congratulatory message to King Mohammed VI.
