Morocco, to counter terrorist attacks, is in a policy of preventing their crimes. To this end, measures have been taken at the local authority level to warn owners of real estate who persist in renting them to tourists without communicating their identity and contact details.
This provision was taken for security reasons related to the fight against terrorism and crime, in January 2017. At the time, citizen owners of furnished houses and apartments had been warned by the Ministry of the Interior of the risks they were running in case of negligence of public prescriptions.
