In 2020, the services of the Ministry of Energy carried out about 3,400 fuel quality control operations at service stations throughout Morocco. At the end of these operations, 61 files were transferred to the Public Prosecutor.
The Minister of Energy, Mines and Environment, thus responded to an oral question on "the quality of fuels distributed in Morocco", asked by the Justice and Development group in the House of Representatives. Aziz Rabbah also announced that a new control laboratory will be set up in 2021 at a cost of 10 million dirhams.
The minister also indicated that a call for tenders has been launched for the selection of a company specialized in the control of fuel quality from its import and arrival at the port to its distribution at service stations.
On another level, but still in the hydrocarbon sector, Aziz Rabbah mentioned the existence of a new draft law developed to highlight the issue of competitiveness in the sector.
