Morocco’s COVID-19 Response Highlighted in French Media Report

TF1 devoted a report to the management of covid-19 in Morocco. This report, filmed in Casablanca, was broadcast on May 2, in the 1 p.m. news on the French channel.
"Since the start of the health crisis, Morocco has adapted to best manage the epidemic," it is announced in the introduction of the report. The TF1 reporters went to the neighborhood grocery store that sells masks and to the textile factories "that produce five million of them per day, thanks in particular to the conversion of certain companies".
They then focused on the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Casablanca where a unit is dedicated to the treatment of covid-19 patients. "All care related to the virus is free throughout the kingdom and the transport of patients to hospitals and clinics is well organized," it is explained.
There, an anesthesiologist-resuscitator doctor guides the TF1 team to a hospitalization unit where patients without signs of severity are admitted. "Once they are clinically cured, they can either stay there until their biological recovery, or be admitted to buffer structures, namely hotels converted into reception facilities," it is specified.
The reporters discover a hangar, completely transformed into a functional field hospital, built in just six days by the Moroccan army.
The last stage of the report will take them to the underprivileged neighborhoods of Casablanca. There, the population "receives state aid of around 100 euros". They also receive support from associations that deliver food baskets to their homes.
