Morocco’s COVID-19 Death Toll Surpasses 6,000 as Daily Fatalities Spike

The death toll, after a downward trend, has risen again with 78 deaths recorded in 24 hours. The number of people who have died from the coronavirus in Morocco now stands at 6,063 since the start of the epidemic in March.
The Greater Casablanca-Settat region has 26 deaths, including 23 in the economic capital. It is followed by the Oriental region, which reports 13 deaths, including 4 in Berkane, 2 in Nador, 2 in Taourit, 2 in Guercif and 2 in Jerada.
Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, Marrakech-Safi and Fès-Meknès each report 9 deaths. Sidi Kacem has 3 deaths, compared to 2 in Rabat, 2 in Salé, 1 in Skhirate-Témara and 1 in Kénitra, while Marrakech has 7 deaths compared to 2 in Essaouira. As for Fès, it recorded 3 deaths, compared to 2 in Séfrou, 1 in Boulemane, 1 in Meknès, 1 in Taza and 1 in Taounate.
In Souss-Massa, there are 5 deaths, including 2 in Inezgane-Ait Melloul, 2 in Tata and 1 in Tiznit. Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima reports 3 deaths, including 2 in Al Hoceima and 1 in Larache. Then come Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima and Beni Mellal-Khénifra, each with 2 deaths, including 2 in Laâyoune and 2 in Béni-Mellal against 1 in Fquih Ben Salah.
