Morocco Considers Vaccine Requirement for Football Stadium Access Amid COVID Concerns

Morocco is still hesitant to open stadiums to supporters. The authorities are waiting to have the results of the vaccination campaign and the observation of the new variant of Covid-19 to authorize the return of the public to the stands.
The Moroccan Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit, has decided to extend the closure of the stadiums while waiting to see more clearly in terms of the Covid-19 contamination rate, and especially to put in place strategies that can allow the respect of preventive measures. No details were given on the reopening of the stands to supporters. But the daily Assabah reports that this could be done by next month, under certain conditions.
Before accessing the stadiums, supporters must prove that they have received the necessary vaccines. In addition, the number of supporters allowed must not exceed 2,000. According to confidences made by a member of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), the appearance of the new variant of Covid-19 has forced the FRMF to think differently about the issue of opening the stadiums, the same source specifies.
