Morocco Considers Easing COVID Restrictions for Stadiums and Mosques During Ramadan

Professor Azeddine Ibrahimi, member of the National Technical and Scientific Advisory Committee on Vaccination, believes that the government should opt for a gradual lifting of the remaining health restrictions imposed by the Covid-19 pandemic. For him, the return of supporters to stadiums and Moroccans to mosques for the "Tarawih" prayers is important.
Another month of Ramadan without the opening of mosques, while the epidemiological situation is improving day by day? In a message posted on his Facebook page, Professor Azeddine Ibrahimi indicated that with the current occupancy rate of intensive care beds, Moroccans can afford a gradual return to normal life.
"We currently allow all kinds of outdoor gatherings. So I don’t see why not open the stadiums to the public under clear health conditions, and I am confident that the ultras will understand and contribute to the supervision of the supporters." He adds that "if the current situation persists, the mosques will be open for the tarawih prayers" during Ramadan.
