Morocco Confident Ahead of World Cup Clash with Spain, Bolstered by Massive Fan Support

More than a favorite, Morocco is "confident" against Spain, their opponent in the round of 16 of the World Cup, analyzes Moroccan journalist Achraf Ben Ayad.
"It’s a tough game, but Morocco will be surrounded by 50,000 people as if they were playing in Casablanca or Tangier. Anything is possible in the world of football. Since 1986, we haven’t reached the round of 16 and we dream of the quarter-finals for the first time," said Achraf Ben Ayad in an interview with Cadena SER, stating that Morocco "has nothing to lose".
For the Moroccan journalist, the Moroccan team has the assets to win this match and "give a historic joy" to its people. "The Moroccan players have nothing to envy to so many stars of this World Cup because they all play in Europe, at Chelsea, PSG, Seville... Wait and see. You’ll be surprised," he added.
Ayad assures that the Atlas Lions are aware that this is a "historic match" and that they are approaching it with a lot of enthusiasm, serenity and in a "good group atmosphere". And to conclude: "We have a fantastic team and we are very confident that we can win a historic victory."
