Morocco Coach Regragui Emphasizes Language Unity in Diverse National Team

In an interview, Walid Regragui, coach of the Atlas Lions, stated that "the Moroccan team is one of the most difficult to coach".
The public can focus on the style of play, but the real challenge lies in unifying a group composed of players from different football schools, Regragui pointed out in an interview with the French newspaper Onze Mondial. He explained that he strives to strengthen the cohesion between the players by using darija to communicate with them, even though he is not an excellent speaker of it.
The team includes professional players playing in various European championships, such as Spain, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany and Italy, in addition to emerging young talents from England and Norway, the Atlas Lions coach specified. He considers this a strength that nevertheless requires additional effort to unify the football identity of the team.
His main mission, Regragui insists, is to make the players understand that representing Morocco is the absolute priority, regardless of the country where they grew up or received their training. The bond that unites everyone is the love of the country and the belonging to the Moroccan flag, he added.
