The issue of dual national players was central to the coach’s statements. The selection process for these players is done in close collaboration with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation, the goal being to integrate the best talents. While some, like Chamseddine Talbi, have already chosen Morocco, others, like Ayoub Bouaddi, are still in the reflection phase. "We are doing our utmost for him to be with us [...] Will he continue with the French team or will he choose Morocco? That’s what the coming days will reveal," Regragui said.
The coach noted with satisfaction that more and more young dual nationals are opting for Morocco at a very young age (17-19 years old), thus strengthening the team’s prospects.
Regarding Neil El Aynaoui, still undecided, Walid Regragui was categorical: participation in the CAN requires total commitment to Morocco. He hammered: "the dual nationals are not above Morocco."
Finally, the coach clarified the situation of Issa Diop, stating that he had never had any contact with the West Ham player and recalling that the national team takes precedence over individuals. "The national team is greater than any player, whoever he may be," he affirmed.
