Morocco’s Coach Regragui Confident Ahead of World Cup Challenge

Coach Walid Regragui, has spoken about his recent appointment as head of the Atlas Lions and Morocco’s chances at the World Cup, saying the kingdom has "a team that can pose problems for any opponent".
In an interview with Canal+ Afrique, Regragui returned to his appointment as head of the Atlas Lions and his first months in office. "What I can bring to my team is my feeling and my Moroccan DNA. A national team is not just on the field. There are also human relationships between the players that are paramount," he explained.
Discussing the preparation of his team, which is in Group F at the World Cup, the technician said he is trying to put in place a style of play that, according to him, "corresponds to the Maghreb player". "You can’t change everything a few months before the World Cup. So my work with my staff is to bring a few small changes to the group, to instill an offensive and possession game, but without excess. Because we have to be effective," he said.
Regragui also talked about Morocco’s chances and the importance of the supporters during this campaign. "The popular fervor is very important. I experienced that with Wydad. I am convinced that our public will be present in Qatar. Playing in an Arab country is an opportunity, we have a team that can pose problems for any opponent. We will respect everyone," he said.
