Morocco’s Coach Hervé Renard Signals Departure After CAN Elimination

The increasingly agitated departure of Hervé Renard on the web is becoming more and more certain. But in reality, this decision, according to the French coach of the "Atlas Lions", in what appears to be a farewell message, dates back to the period before the 2019 CAN.
Hervé Renard’s departure seems irreversible. After long denying this eventuality, the day after the humiliating disqualification from the CAN by the very modest Beninese team, the French technician is saying goodbye to the national team. In what can be described as a farewell letter, Renard looked back on his fond memories of the national team.
According to Al Massae, Hervé Renard said, in what appears to be a farewell letter, that he "will keep Morocco in his heart wherever he goes, thanks to the beautiful memories of his time at the head of the selection", describing his adventure with the "Atlas Lions" as extraordinary. Moreover, the coach is proud to have worked for a better positioning of the Moroccan team in the FIFA ranking, bringing it from 81st to 47th place.
Accusing the coach of having failed to fulfill the commitments of his contract, the newspaper cites several errors of Renard, holding the members of the FRMF responsible for these. Among these errors, the media cites the lack of general supervision of the national and Olympic teams, the early disqualification of the "Lions" and the physical absence of the Frenchman in Morocco, which is nevertheless his workplace.
The newspaper went even further by demonstrating, with figures, the period spent by Renard on the bench of the Moroccan national team. With the French technician, the "Atlas Lions" played 44 matches, including 17 friendly matches and 24 official matches. Renard suffered 11 defeats during this crossing and his players managed to score 60 goals, concludes the same source.
