Morocco’s Coach Halilhodzic Targets Young Talent Abroad for National Team Overhaul

The national coach, Vahid Hallilhodzic, wants to renew his squad as part of the upcoming continental and international competitions. After confinement, he has decided to rejuvenate the team by negotiating the return to the country of young Moroccan players playing abroad.
The Franco-Bosnian coach wants to change the composition of his group, reports the daily Al Akhbar. This project, long pondered during his confinement with his family in France, could come to fruition in the coming days. He would already be in constant contact with Moroccan players playing in Europe. The young people approached could soon join the group.
Among the new talents discovered, there is Mohamed Taabouni. This young Moroccan player has already worn the jersey of the Dutch national team with which he won the U17 Euro 2019. The Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF) should in return contact this player from AZ Alkmaar who had an excellent season with this Dutch club. In addition to Taabouni, the boss of the technical staff of the Atlas Lions is active in recruiting Ilias Chair into his team. The player of Moroccan origin plays at Queen Park Rangers and has already played for the Olympic national team.
According to the same media, Mustapha Hadji would have prepared a file on the player before Vahid Halilhodžić quickly contacted him to guarantee him a place with the Atlas Lions in the near future.
In short, the Moroccan coach is negotiating these young players in order to strengthen the system already composed of Achraf Hakimi, Hakim Ziyech or Noureddine Amrabat to achieve his goal: qualify Morocco for the next World Cup.
