Morocco Coach Halilhodzic Sets Sights on World Cup and African Cup Glory

The coach of the Moroccan national team, Vahid Halilhodzic, was the guest of the Top of the foot show on Monday to talk about his team. An opportunity for the Franco-Bosnian technician to talk about his ambitions and especially the future with the Atlas Lions.
After qualifying for the next CAN 2022, the coach of the Atlas Lions was invited to make a brief assessment of his tenure at the head of this selection. According to him, he hopes to qualify for the 2022 World Cup but above all to win the CAN. To this end, he must work tirelessly. Even after securing qualification, Vahid did not hide his disappointment at the performance of his players in the match against Mauritania (0-0). "I was not happy, we have to show more desire and determination," he said.
For him, Morocco has a lot of potential, it is one of the best teams on the continent at the moment, but it needs the spirit of the group, the mental and the physical commitment". This is what Vahid believes this team of the Alaouite kingdom is lacking. But he is aware that with the work he is currently doing, he can change the situation and make his mark.
However, he has never changed his objective. The main thing for him today is to qualify for the World Cup. Nevertheless, speaking of the 2022 CAN, according to him, "all Moroccans are a bit frustrated because their team has not had much success in this competition. We have a lot of hope, not just for the CAN but for the World Cup in Qatar. It gives me a lot of desire and determination to go through with my ideas. I work to make the team more competitive, more daring, especially away from home... We have the ambition to reach the semi-finals or the final of the Can and why not win it" he added. It should be noted that Vahid Halilhodzic has been at the head of this Moroccan team since 2019.
