Morocco Coach Halilhodzic Considers Quitting After Rocky Start, Stays On After Burundi Win

Barely arrived at the head of the Moroccan national team, disillusionment seemed to have gotten the better of coach Vahid Halilhodzic. While he was tempted to throw in the towel, the Bosnian finally changed his mind, reinvigorated by the victory obtained against Burundi.
Vahid Halilhodzic was about to put an end to his adventure with the Atlas Lions. According to the Arabic-language daily Al Akhbar, the Bosnian coach has faced strong pressure following the first matches played, all of which resulted in more than mediocre results.
Fortunately, in Bujumbura, the first official match with the Atlas Lions saw the victory of Ziyech and his teammates. A victory that restores the confidence of the technician who then decides to reconsider his position.
For the time being, Vahid can count on the support of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). According to the officials of the governing body of football, the coach still has time to make the best adjustments and find solutions to the problems of Moroccan football.
To succeed in his mission, Vahid hopes to find new players capable of strengthening the squad of the Atlas Lions, reports the Arabic-language daily. Furthermore, it should be noted that the team needs new blood, a new breath. To this end, the Bosnian has demanded from the federation the freedom to be able to exclude the players he no longer wants, while introducing into the squad new elements that he intends to find.
As a priority objective, Vahid Halilhodzic is aiming for qualification for the World Cup in Qatar. As for the next CAN, the coach explained that "it is his second objective and that his ambition is to reach at least the quarter-finals", indicates the same source.
