Morocco’s Coach Halilhodzic Cautious Ahead of World Cup Qualifier Against DR Congo

After the draw for the qualified countries for the Africa play-offs for the World Cup, the coach of the Atlas Lions commented on the opponent (Democratic Republic of Congo) that Morocco inherited. Vahid Halilhodzic measures the task ahead because the match is likely to be difficult given the stakes.
Between Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo, who will manage to get their definitive ticket for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar? The answer in March at the end of the home and away leg of this confrontation between the Atlas Lions and the Leopards. From Yaoundé, Cameroon, where he is currently for the CAN, Vahid Halilhodzic gave his impressions on this derby.
The technician does not yet cry victory, even though he knows that the players will do their utmost to win. "The draw is good when you win. For me, it’s 50-50. It could have been worse, because there were really very good teams."
He stressed that he prefers to first focus on the Lions’ match against Malawi counting for the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations. "Right now, I’m busy with the preparations for Malawi, after that I’ll think more and talk about this playoff. We have time to prepare it. My concern is to prepare the next CAN match," said the national coach.
Morocco will therefore face the DRC in March, in Kinshasa for the first leg and in Morocco for the second leg. Objective: to afford a pass for the World Cup which will take place in Qatar from November 21 to December 18.
