Morocco Closes Popular Nature Park as COVID-19 Cases Surge in Region

Access to the Béni Mezguelda nature park has been prohibited to visitors and residents of the region since Sunday. This is a decision by the provincial authorities of Ouezzane due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Thus, barriers have been erected at the entrance to the park, one of the best known in the province and very popular with mountain tourism enthusiasts, reported the Arabic-language site Alyaoum24.com.
This decision follows the worsening of the epidemiological situation in the region where the number of infections with the new coronavirus has exceeded 30 cases in the past week, the same source said.
To recall, in order to curb the surge in contamination with the new coronavirus, strict restrictive measures have been in place since Thursday, August 20, in large cities like Casablanca and Marrakech.
