Morocco’s New Car Sales Plummet 9.6% Amid Supply Shortages and Economic Challenges

In Morocco, car sales fell at the end of August due in particular to the lack of availability of models.
According to statistics from the Association of Automobile Importers in Morocco (AIVAM), 107,007 new cars were sold at the end of August 2022, a decrease of 9.61% compared to the same (rather poor) period last year, reports Les Inspirations Éco.
This decline is explained by several factors. These include the scarcity of certain models due to supply problems, the difficult economic situation of some households, not to mention the caution in granting equipment or consumer loans.
By segment, the number of new registrations of passenger cars (VP) reached 95,785 units in the first eight months of this year, down 8.15%, while that of light commercial vehicles (LCV) stood at 11,222 units (-20.38%), specifies the AIVAM.
