Morocco Cancels New Year’s Eve Celebrations Amid COVID-19 Concerns

On the night of December 31 to January 1, 2022, hotels, restaurants and all tourist establishments are prohibited from organizing festivities or special programs for New Year’s celebrations.
This is what the government indicated in a press release to, it says, avoid the spread of Covid-19 and protect the achievements of the pandemic management in the kingdom.
Thus, the authorities have ordered the prohibition of all forms of celebration on New Year’s Eve, including "the organization of parties and special events in hotels, restaurants and tourist establishments".
According to the updated restrictions, restaurants and cafes must close at 11:30 p.m. and a curfew will be in place from midnight to 6:00 a.m. the next morning.
The government warns that the danger of the pandemic persists, stressing that the current situation requires strict compliance, on the part of all citizens, with the instructions of the public authorities, in addition to the precautionary measures issued by the health authorities.
The restrictions will come into effect from December 31, 2021 to January 1, 2022.
