Morocco Builds New Fences to Strengthen Border Control with Ceuta

In order to ensure better border control with Ceuta after the migration crisis in May, Morocco has undertaken reinforcement work at the Tarajal level. Two new fences are under construction.
The construction work on the two fences located in the sandy area is progressing rapidly. With these new barriers, Morocco intends to further control the entries at the border with Ceuta, in order to avoid a new migration crisis. The Moroccan authorities have informed the Civil Guard of the start of the work both in the sandy area near Tarajal and in Benzú, reports El Faro de Ceuta.

The two new fences, whose bases are already visible, will be added to the existing one that runs along the sea from the breakwater. They will be topped with accordions in the form of inverted combs.
In addition to keeping its borders closed, Morocco is working to reinforce them after the invasion of migrants in Ceuta last May, thus proving its determination to continue playing its role in the fight against immigration in Europe.
