Morocco to Build New Fuel Quality Control Lab, Expanding National Network

The government is preparing to build a new laboratory to control the quality of fuels in 2021, the Minister of Energy announced on Monday during the weekly oral question session at the House of Representatives. With this new construction, whose budget amounts to 10 million DH, the number of laboratories in charge of this mission is brought to 6 nationwide.
During this session, the Minister of Energy acknowledged that new technologies "make it possible to put in place a system for controlling fuels and monitoring the supply from the port to distribution at the pump".
As part of the construction of this new laboratory, a call for tenders has been launched for the selection of a company specialized in the control of fuel quality. According to the same source, emphasis is placed on the revival of investments in the fuel distribution sector.
In addition, 61 files were transferred this year to the Public Prosecutor for poor fuel quality.
