Morocco’s Brahim Díaz Faces 10-Game Goal Drought, Coach Regragui Offers Support

Moroccan striker Brahim Díaz has been going through a difficult phase since mid-March, having not scored a goal in 10 consecutive matches, a first in his professional career.
The Moroccan striker has been struggling since mid-March, having not scored a goal in the last 10 matches, a first in his career. This goalless streak, which includes 6 Liga matches and 4 Champions League matches, raises questions about his current form.
But Walid Regragui, the Moroccan national team coach, continues to support Díaz. He recently spoke to him to express his confidence and remind him of his importance to the national team.
Regragui insisted that Díaz must overcome this period of doubt and find the goal again, especially as they approach the important matches against Zambia and Congo in the World Cup 2026 qualifiers next month.
Brahim was born on August 3, 1999 in Malaga to a mother from that city, Patricia Díaz, and a father of Moroccan origin from Melilla, Sufiel Abdelkader Mohand. He started his international career in the Spanish youth categories, but did not have the opportunity to play in the senior team. Between a possible call-up from Luis de la Fuente, the coach of La Roja, which is slow in coming, and Morocco’s constant interest in him, the 24-year-old player finally chose Morocco as his sporting nationality.
