Morocco Braces for Potential Second COVID-19 Wave, Education Ministry Plans Ahead

After managing the coronavirus crisis brilliantly, Morocco is preparing for a second wave of infections. For the next school year, the Ministry of National Education is active and wants to anticipate.
The Ministry of National Education is apprehensive about this threat in view of the forecasts of the World Health Organization. They warn of the risk of a second wave of the covid-19 epidemic in the fall. Faced with this situation that could suspend classes in the middle of the school year, the department of Saaïd Amzazi is already planning different scenarios.
According to Telquel, the two possibilities that are emerging are a normal return if the epidemic is contained, or a new lockdown with the suspension of face-to-face classes in schools, universities and vocational training institutes.
According to some sources close to the supervisory ministry, the ministry has sent several directives to the academies for the development of content for a possible distance learning. According to the same source, the filming of the lessons should be done at the end of the organization of the normal session of the baccalaureate exams, so that they are ready before the next school year.
