Morocco Braces for Fuel Price Drop: Diesel Could Plunge 30 Cents, Bringing Relief to Drivers

In Morocco, fuel prices are expected to decrease, much to the delight of Moroccan drivers. This decrease comes after several weeks without significant variation.
After several weeks of stability, punctuated by a few increases, fuel prices are expected to show more or less significant decreases starting this Monday, September 1st. According to officials from the National Federation of Service Station Owners, Merchants and Managers, the price of diesel (the most consumed fuel type by Moroccans) could drop by up to 30 cents, after a slight 10-cent decrease in mid-August, during the biweekly price update, as reported by Hepress.
As for the price of gasoline, it should see a modest 16-cent drop per liter, after remaining stable throughout the summer. However, the prices at the sales stations in the cities will not be the same. They will experience "disparities depending on transportation and distribution costs".
On the international level, fuel prices have also recorded declines. Brent crude oil futures for October fell 0.73% to $68.12 a barrel. As for November Brent and US WTI, they also experienced a decline. The origin of these declines is an expected slowdown in demand in the United States, the world’s largest consumer, and the anticipation of increased supply from the OPEC+ alliance as autumn approaches.
