Morocco Boycotts Tunisian Sports Events Amid Diplomatic Tensions

After Karate, it is the turn of the Royal Moroccan Handball Federation (FRMHB) to announce the withdrawal of Moroccan clubs engaged in two inter-club competitions scheduled in Tunisia in September and October.
The diplomatic crisis between Morocco and Tunisia has repercussions on the sports level with boycotts of Moroccan clubs. The Royal Moroccan Handball Federation (FRMHB) follows in the footsteps of other disciplines, which had announced before it the cancellation of their participation in the competitions scheduled in Tunisia.
In a press release, the FRMHB states that Wydad de Smara will not participate in the Arab Championship (September 17-27). In the same vein, Raja d’Agadir is withdrawing from the African Club Championship (September 28 to October 10). A few days ago, it was the Meknès Omnisports Club (CODM) that had announced the withdrawal of its women’s basketball section from the Arab Championship scheduled in Tunisia from September 20 to 29.
Not to mention the Royal Moroccan Federation of Mixed and Free Combat Sports which had also announced the non-participation of the Moroccan delegation in the North African Championship which was to take place in Tunisia from September 7 to 11. The boycott is general and it does not come only from Morocco. Other countries have announced their absence from the competitions scheduled in Tunisia.
