Morocco: towards a boycott of Algerian singers?

Moroccans seem to no longer want Algerian artists. They blame them for their lack of solidarity following the assassination by the Algerian navy of two of the four Franco-Moroccan vacationers on jet skis who strayed into Algerian maritime space in Saïdia. As a result, the concert by Algerian singer Warda, better known as "Charlomanti", has been canceled.
Algerian singer Warda, better known as "Charlomanti", will not perform in Morocco on September 7. Responding to the request of some Moroccans who no longer want Algerian artists because of the lack of solidarity following the assassination by the Algerian coast guard of two Franco-Moroccan vacationers on jet skis who strayed into Algerian maritime space, the management of a nightclub located in Casablanca, in Ain Diab. The management also justifies the cancellation of the "Cheba Warda" evening as a sign of solidarity with the Moroccan people and the families of the victims of the Saïdia tragedy.

Previously, Moroccan activists had led a social media campaign against Algerian singer Warda because of several media statements that "mostly undermine Moroccan values and attack the sacred symbols of the nation as well as its integrity". Many Moroccan Internet users welcomed the nightclub’s decision. They also called on all organizers of concerts, official or private, to boycott the evenings of Algerian artists, to break ties with them, and not to welcome them to perform in Morocco.
On August 29, the Algerian navy killed two of the four Franco-Moroccan vacationers who were jet skiing with friends and strayed into Algerian maritime space. "An odious crime" against humanity in general and Morocco in particular, denounced by Moroccan activists, artists and celebrities. While denunciations were raining down in Morocco, Algerian nationalists launched a social media campaign to justify the assassination of the Franco-Moroccan vacationers by the "sovereignty" of the country.
