Morocco Boosts Wheat Reserves Amid Global Shortage Concerns

At a time when the war unleashed in Ukraine by Russia raises fears of a wheat shortage in the world, Morocco will create an additional reserve of soft and durum wheat. This announcement was made by Mohammed Sadiki, Minister of Agriculture.
Responding to a question about strategic reserves of essential products in the House of Representatives, Mohammed Sadiki, Minister of Agriculture, announced the creation of an additional reserve of soft and durum wheat. The National Interprofessional Office of Cereals and Legumes (ONICL) will be responsible for managing this new reserve, the minister added.
Mohammed Sadiki also announced the creation of a commission to determine the products that are part of the strategic reserve of essential products and the creation of a unified national system of the strategic reserve.
