The volume of wheat imports in quintals for Morocco stands at 3.5 million tons at the end of April 2020. With these imports, Morocco aims to secure its cereal stock, in the prospect of possible disruptions on the world market.
Currently, half of the annual needs of the millers is already stored in the silos. Several large grain ships are expected in the next two months in Casablanca, Jorf Lasfar and Agadir, to supply Morocco with cereals. The 38% increase in imports has been facilitated by the freedom given to importers to source on international markets.
