Morocco Boosts Road Safety with 120 New High-Tech Mobile Radars

120 new radars will soon be deployed in several Moroccan cities, to strengthen road safety. This equipment was handed over on Tuesday to the Royal Gendarmerie and the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) (Police).
This allocation is part of the improvement of the behavior indicators of road users outside urban areas, and the expansion of the fleet of road control equipment, indicates a press release from the Ministry of Transport.
These are precisely 120 latest generation mobile radars worth 9.1 million dirhams and 36 utility vehicles costing 5.8 million DH. These radars handed over to the royal gendarmerie have a range of more than 1000 meters with a maximum detected speed of 250 km/h. For its part, the DGSN received 110 750 CC motorcycles and 20 1250 CC motorcycles in addition to 13 utility vehicles for a total cost of 24.2 million DH.
These new control equipment will also contribute to strengthening the presence of control agents and the mechanisms for repressing offenses to the Highway Code in the cities of Rabat, Témara, Salé, Kénitra, Casablanca, Fès, Tanger, Marrakech and Agadir, specifies the same source.
