Morocco Boosts Regional Funding to 10 Billion Dirhams for 2021

As part of the implementation of advanced regionalization, the funding allocated to the regions is set to increase annually from 2021.
An amount of 10 billion dirhams will be allocated to the regions from 2021, compared to 9.6 billion dirhams in 2020 and 8.5 billion dirhams in 2019, said Mohamed Benchaâboun, relayed by MAP Business.
According to the Minister of Economy and Finance, it is necessary to continue the momentum of investment and support the various strategic projects, particularly in education, health, housing, justice, the reform of the regional investment centers (CRI) and sectoral strategies.
Mohamed Benchaaboun is committed to rationalizing the creation of budget items and operating expenses of the administration, accelerating the comprehensive reform of pension systems and continuing the gradual reform of the compensation system.
He would also like changes to be made both in the management of public investments, mainly through the use of innovative financing tools, and in the efficiency of investments, by favoring the most productive projects.
