Morocco Boosts Housing and Pay for Auxiliary Authorities

The Moroccan Ministry of the Interior intends to work to improve the living conditions of the auxiliary authorities. A few measures have thus been taken.
The measures were taken following a written question from Parliament. They are recorded in a correspondence from the Ministry of the Interior. From 2021, the auxiliary authorities who are not owners of personal housing will benefit from social housing programs. Agreements have also been signed with banking institutions to allow these agents to obtain advantageous bank loans.
The urban chioukhs, whose salary increased from 2,300 DH to 3,500 DH in 2016, will receive 4,000 DH from 2021. As for the salaries of the urban mokadems, they will increase from 2,015 DH to 3,100 DH in 2021, an increase of more than 50%. The salaries of rural auxiliary authorities are also increasing. The salary of rural chioukhs will rise to 3,000 DH in 2021 compared to 2,500 DH in 2016, an increase of 20%. As for the salary of the rural mokadems, it goes from 810 DH to 2,500 DH in 2021, an increase of more than 200%.
