Morocco Boosts Ferry Capacity for Diaspora with Two New Ships

Two night ferry ships with a capacity of 2,000 passengers and 500 cars each have just been chartered under an agreement with the Tanger Med Port Authority. This will facilitate the return of Moroccans residing abroad (MREs) to Morocco, as King Mohammed VI had wished.
In a press release, the Ministry of Equipment, Transport, Logistics and Water indicates that the operation of the two ships has been entrusted, following a restricted consultation, to the Moroccan company Intershipping to strengthen the existing maritime services.
The fares that will be applied on board these two ships chartered by the State are in line with the basic fares of 995 euros for a reference package consisting of a car and 4 passengers, the same source notes, noting that this additional offer brings to 10 the number of long-haul ships operated during the Marhaba 2021 operation.
The ministry also invites passengers wishing to obtain detailed information on the deployed ships and their rotation programs as well as on the refund modalities to call the green numbers made available to them. It also calls on MREs to respect all the preventive measures against the spread of Covid-19, enacted by the Moroccan health authorities and those of the connecting countries.
