Morocco Boosts Education Budget to 62.45 Billion Dirhams for 2022

The Moroccan government has planned, in the 2022 Finance Bill, the sum of 62.45 billion DH to support the Education and Preschool sector.
This amount, up 6.1% from last year, will be devoted to operating and investment, explained the Minister of National Education, Preschool and Sports, Chakib Benmoussa, to the members of the House of Representatives.
In his presentation, the minister specified that these credits are divided between operating (55.92 billion DH) and investment with payment credits of nearly 6.53 billion DH.
On the other hand, the commitment credits (2023 and beyond) for investment are set at 5.06 billion DH, an increase of 50.16% compared to the 2021 fiscal year. 18 projects will be carried out in three areas, namely equity and equal opportunities, improving the quality of education and training, and finally governance and mobilization, Benmoussa detailed.
Regarding the subsidies allocated to the regional academies for the 2022 fiscal year, they amount to more than 25.56 billion DH, including investment (4.75 billion DH in commitment credits and 4.85 billion DH in payment credits), academy staff (11.1 billion DH) and equipment and other expenses (4.86 billion DH).
