Morocco Boosts Defense Spending to $12.1 Billion in 2024 Budget

Morocco will allocate nearly $12.1 billion to the Ministry of Defense in 2024. This amount will be used, among other things, for the acquisition of weapons and military equipment.
The budget of the Ministry of National Defense for the 2024-2025 fiscal years amounts to $12.1 billion, according to the draft finance law (PLF) 2024 consulted by Maghreb Intelligence. This year, the budget allocated to Defense was $11.6 billion.
For the 2024 fiscal year, $1.04 billion will be dedicated to the acquisition and maintenance of equipment for the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), support and development of the defense industry, it is specified. In terms of strengthening personnel, 7,000 new positions will be filled in the army out of the 30,000 planned.
